Grain Storage

Don't let your harvest go to waste. Proper grain storage protects your yield, keeping it in prime condition until you're ready to sell.

Questions to Consider

Before exploring storage options, take a moment to consider a few important questions.

Sharing your answers to the questions below will help us find the perfect solution for you.

Complete System

  • Wet storage:
    • If there is a dryer, how much wet storage is needed to supply the dryer?
  • Capacity:
    • How much of your crop will you store each year?
    • Will you be using some bins for multiple crops throughout the year?
    • What percentage of your storage will be long-term versus short-term?
  • Commodity:
    • What crops will you be storing?
    • Will you need to keep different varieties or grades of grain separate?
    • How much of each crop will you be storing?
    • Do you want to have segregated crops with multiple bins for crops or large volumes in one bin?
      • This depends on whether you need to keep different varieties or grades separate.
      • Again, how much of your crop will you be storing each year?
  • Space and Size of Site
    • What size is your site?
    • Does it lend itself to tall and narrow storage, or short and wide storage?
  • Budget:
    • Smaller bins might be more affordable upfront, but larger bins can offer economies of scale.
    • Smaller bins also give you more flexibility if you need to segregate different crops.
  • Unloading:
    • Do you prefer an auger, a conveyor, a traditional auger sweep, or maybe a paddle sweep with added safety features?
  • What in-bin monitoring is desired?
    • For large bins or valuable crops, in-bin monitoring systems can help you keep an eye on the condition of your grain.
  • Access:
    • Do you want a ladder and cage or stairs setup?
  • Filling: How will your storage bins be filled? Downspout, conveyor, auger, other.

Individual Grain Bin

  • Wet or Dry?
    • What will you mainly use the bin for?
    • Will you be storing wet or dry grain?
    • Do you need long-term or short-term storage?
    • Do you prefer a hopper bottom (for easy unloading) or a flat bottom bin?
  • What capacity do you need?
  • What do you want to store?
  • Space requirements or needs?
    • Is there a specific size bin that will fit best in your layout?
  • Budget?
    • Smaller bins might be more affordable upfront, but larger bins can offer economies of scale.
    • Smaller bins also give you more flexibility if you need to segregate different crops.
  • How do you want to unload the bin?
    • Do you prefer an auger, a conveyor, a traditional auger sweep, or maybe a paddle sweep with added safety features?
  • What in-bin monitoring is desired?
    • For large bins or valuable crops, in-bin monitoring systems can help you keep an eye on the condition of your grain.
