Material Handling

From field to storage, seamlessly. Efficient material handling minimizes delays and protects your grain every step of the way.

Questions to Consider

Before exploring material handling options, take a moment to consider a few important questions. Sharing your answers with us will help us design the perfect system for you.

Receiving

How quickly do you want to unload commodities?

  • How fast do you need to get trucks back to the field to keep your harvesting operation moving?
  • What's the size and shape of your pit?

What type of equipment are you using to haul grain into your system?

  • End dumps or belly dumps?
  • Do you want to be able to unload multiple belly dump gates at the same time to speed things up?

How many receiving pits do you need?

Elevators

Freestanding or Cabled?

  • Assess the available space at your site to ensure it can accommodate the necessary cable runs, considering whether 45-degree cables might be required for added flexibility.
  • Freestanding elevators offer a clean and open look.

Capacity?

  • What's feeding this elevator? Is it a high-capacity receiving pit or a lower-capacity dryer? The elevator needs to keep up with the flow while maintaining grain quality.

Future expansion?

  • Do you plan to add more bins in the future? A taller elevator with spouts or a conveyor can make future expansion easier.

Wet path split from dry path? (# of elevators needed)

  • If you need to handle both wet and dry grain, you might need separate elevators for each path.

Electrical or manual distributor?

  • How do you want to control where the grain goes at the top of the elevator? An electrical distributor offers more automation, while a manual one is simpler and might be suitable for smaller operations.

Conveyors

How fast are your other machines (like your dryer or conveyor) moving grain?

You'll want your elevator to keep up, but be careful not to oversize, as this can negatively impact the quality of the grain.

Do you prefer a traditional chain conveyor, a versatile Versaloop system, an auger, or a high-capacity air system?

Each has its own advantages depending on your needs.
